The very best teachers always have a plan to get their students where it is they want them. Haphazard teachers will certainly fail. Rest assured, Matthew, who was charged by his Master to make disciples (28:19-20), has a plan to take those who want a discipleship to Jesus right where they need to be.

If you were to ask 1000 Christians what a disciple should look like, what would be their response? Would they all answer alike or do you think their answers would be quite different from one another?

Sadly, the fact is their answers would be quite different. This reveals that we, as the Church, have no specific curriculum for discipleship today. But was Jesus specific in His teaching of the Twelve? Absolutely, He was. So where is His curriculum?

Matthew hid, in typical Jewish fashion, the actual curriculum for discipleship deep within his wonderful gospel. The mysteries of the kingdom that Jesus spoke of (Matt. 13:11) - and said were reserved only for the disciples - are that curriculum.
